Terms of use
The rules of this community. Short on purpose: they say what the community is for, what members may and may not do, and what happens otherwise. *Version 1.0, effective [date].* ## 1. What this community is [Organisation name] ("we") runs this community for [its members / its staff / its volunteers / its customers]: [one sentence on the purpose]. Access is [by invitation / on registration approved by us / open to anyone who registers]. By using the community you accept these terms and the privacy policy. ## 2. Your account One account per person, under your own name [or: a pseudonym is allowed]. You keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else used your account. You are responsible for what is done with it. [Members must be at least [16/18] years old.] ## 3. What you may publish Posts, comments, files and messages that relate to the purpose of the community and respect the other members. You keep the rights on what you publish; you allow us to display it to the other members and to keep it for as long as the community exists, within the rules of the privacy policy. ## 4. What you may not do - Publish anything illegal, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing or pornographic, or that infringes someone else's rights (copyright, privacy, trade secrets). - Publish personal data of other people without their agreement, beyond what the purpose of the community needs. - Send unsolicited advertising, spam or chain messages. - Try to access content or accounts you are not entitled to, disrupt the service, or copy the community's data in bulk. - Share your account or let someone else use it. ## 5. Moderation The administrators may edit or remove content that breaks these rules, warn a member, and suspend or delete an account after a warning, or without one when the breach is serious. A member may ask the administrators to review a decision at [email address]. Reports of problematic content go to the same address or through the "Report content" function. ## 6. Availability and changes The community is provided as it is, with the hosting provider's availability targets. We may change its features, suspend it for maintenance, or close it, with notice to the members where possible. We may change these terms; the new version is announced in the community and applies from the date it states. ## 7. Leaving You may delete your account from your settings [or: by writing to us]; what happens to your content is described in the privacy policy. We may delete an inactive account after [N] months of inactivity, with a notice sent to your address first. ## 8. Law These terms are governed by the law of [country]. Disputes are brought before the courts of [city], without prejudice to mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence. Questions: [email address].

This community sets only the cookies it needs to work. None of them tracks you, and none is used for advertising or shared with anyone, so no consent banner is required for them. | Cookie | What it does | How long | |---|---|---| | Session cookie (`PHPSESSID` or similar) | keeps you logged in while you use the community | until you close the browser, or longer if you ticked "remember me" | | Security cookie (`_csrf`) | protects the forms against forged requests from other sites | the session | | Preference cookies (language, light or dark theme, dismissed notices) | remember a choice you made | up to one year | The community loads no third-party scripts, fonts, videos or analytics by default. [If the administrators enable a module that adds any (for example embedded videos or a map), this notice is updated and, where the law requires it, your consent is asked first.] [Note for the administrators, to delete: a theme font other than the default is loaded from Google Fonts, which sends every visitor's address to Google; keep the default font, or say so here.] You can delete the cookies in your browser at any time; you will be logged out and the community will set them again when you log in. How your personal data is processed beyond cookies: the privacy policy.
